Ami Formica
Counseling Intern (Starting this June)
Ami Formica is finishing her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at OSU Cascades. She is currently pursing her internship clinical experience at Mountain River Counseling and Consulting starting this June.
Ami grew up on the east coast and has been living on the west coast for over ten years. She had a previous career as a theatre teacher and director, and is now the mother of three young children. Her life experiences as an educator, artist, parent, and partner have brought her a wide range of perspectives that she uses to build relationships and understanding with her clients. She hopes to support each person who enters counseling in their unique life journey, and to provide attunement and insight as they dive deeper into their strengths and challenges.
Using unconditional positive regard, Ami works collaboratively and connects with clients to identify counseling goals and understand each person’s unique history and story. Throughout counseling, Ami uses a person-centered model to provide support and strategies for enhancing self-awareness, self-compassion, and growth.
As a counseling intern, Ami is able to provide counseling services to uninsured and under-insured individuals. She will provide pro bono and reduced fee therapy services to clients starting this June. Reach out to us now if you are interested to work with her this summer.
