Michael Caylor

Grand Canyon CMHC Master's Intern

Therapy Oregon

Michael Caylor is finishing his Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Grand Canyon University. He is currently pursuing his internship clinical experience at Mountain River Counseling and Consulting LLC. He is excited to become a registered professional counselor associate in Oregon after graduation.

Michael grew up in Kansas and California where he was exposed to many different perspectives that fostered his passion to help and learn about others. He hopes to continue this passion through clinical work by building therapeutic relationships with others. Michael is curious about exploring the perspectives and experiences of others and how such experiences impact their personal development and identity. He strives to work with individuals and create an environment where they can better understand themselves and their purpose.

Using unconditional positive regard and empathy, Michael collaboratively works with his clients to identify challenges and stressors related to anxiety, depression, and past traumatic experiences. Michael’s interests include working with adolescents and adults to explore life’s stressors and challenges.

As a counseling intern, Michael is able to provide counseling services to uninsured and under-insured individuals. He provides pro bono and reduced fee therapy services to clients.

Outside of the counseling profession, Michael enjoys video games, being in nature, and spending time with his loved ones.
