Andrew Geller

Professional Counselor Associate

Therapy Oregon

Andrew grew up on the East Coast in the greater NYC area. He graduated from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor (2014). Prior to arriving in Bend in 2019, Andrew worked in the book publishing industry helping authors find the right words to tell their stories. After graduating from OSU-Cascades with his Master’s of Clinical Mental Health Counseling (2022), Andrew spent 2 years working for Deschutes County Behavioral Health’s Access and Integration team assessing the mental health needs of individuals with a wide diversity of clinical presentations and honing his differential diagnosis and treatment planning skills. Alongside his clinical credentials and competencies, Andrew has received over 500 hours of training related to teaching yoga, meditation, and mindfulness.

Andrew works to develop an individualized treatment approach that is congruent with each client’s personal values and is further informed by the belief: that we all carry forward some patterns of thinking and behaviors from the past that could benefit from updating; that we can learn about ourselves by examining what comes up in the present moment; and that setting an intention to improve your well-being and better understand yourself is the first step to doing so.

Clinical theories utilized: Mindfulness-based therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Jungian Psychoanalysis, Eastern principles and philosophy, and Narrative Theory.

In his practice, Andrew focuses exclusively on working with individual clients. He specializes in helping clients navigate challenges related to trauma, anxiety, depression, boundary-setting, shadow integration, and Self exploration. Andrew is passionate about helping others recognize their own capacity to guide themselves to a better future.
